SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Some young heroes were recognized at the 119th Annual International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference.

Organizers say it's just as important to teach your kids when not to call 911.

Of the 300 million calls to 911 in the U.S., at least 50 percent are due to misuse or are non emergency calls.
