Cost of staying cool puts a chill on customers' wallets

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The cost of staying cool is putting a chill on a lot of San Diegans wallets with SDG&E customers' bills skyrocketing.

When it comes to energy use, the more you use the more you pay. But it's not just that, the more you use the more you pay at a much higher rate.

SDG&E says there is a way to track your usage room-by-room by logging onto your SDG&E account and hitting "view and analyze my energy use."
