Man wounded after being shot in chest near Skyline

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 21-year-old man was shot in his chest in a drive-by attack in the Skyline neighborhood, and is expected to survive, San Diego police said Saturday.

The man was walking east in the 7800 block of Paradise Valley Rd. near South Meadowbrook Dr. shortly before 9:30 p.m. Friday when a passenger in a dark colored vehicle with a large rear spoiler and loud exhaust opened fire, according to San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings.

Gang detectives were called in to investigate, Jennings said.
