SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 70-year-old woman was seriously injured Sunday when a driver plowed into her as she attempted to cross a street in Logan Heights, San Diego police said.
The woman was walking across Imperial Ave. at 30th St. when she was struck by the vehicle as its driver was turning right from southbound 30th onto westbound Imperial, according to San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher.
The driver stopped following the crash and was cooperating with investigators, Lasher said. Alcohol was not a factor, he said.
The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious head, ankle and foot injuries. She is expected to recover, Lasher said.
