SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Almost half of all former foster youth will become homeless within a year and a half after aging out of the system.
One out of four will be in prison within two years. Only three percent will graduate from college.
But, a San Diego non-profit is working to change those statistics.
Don Wells is the executive director of "Just In Time for Foster Youth" in Old Town.
The "4th Annual Peers Gala" is this Saturday, October 13th at the La Jolla Grand Estate. Funds raised will go to help transitioning foster youth in San Diego.
