OCEANSIDE (CNS) - Authorities are asking the public to keep an eye out for a North County woman who has been missing under mysterious circumstances for more than a week.
The last known sighting of Marlane Koue, 54, was at the Pizza Port restaurant on Carlsbad Village Drive in Carlsbad early on the evening of Oct. 1, according to police. She has not communicated with her relatives or friends since.
"Her family is very concerned, because she normally calls her daughter daily, and there has been no activity on her phone or bank accounts," Lt. Leonard Mata said.
Koue, who lives with a roommate in the 1200 block of Larchwood Drive in Oceanside, is married but separated from her husband, who has been interviewed by police and is cooperating with their investigation into her disappearance, according to Mata.
Though there is no evidence of a crime, the woman's family and friends are concerned because they consider it out of character for her to be out of touch with them for so long.
"The lack of activity on her cell phone and bank accounts, and the fact she has completely stopped communicating with her family, has raised suspicion regarding her disappearance," the lieutenant said.
Koue is described as a 5-foot-5-inch, roughly 160-pound white woman with brown hair and brown eyes. She may be driving a beige Dodge Grand Caravan with the California license plate number 4SHU678.
Police asked anyone who might be able to help locate Koue to call Detective Sgt. Matt Christensen at (760) 435-4639 or, after hours, Oceanside police communications, (760) 435-4911.
