Chargers avoid blackout of Monday's game against Denver Broncos

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The Chargers avoided their second television blackout of the season when they announced Friday that they have all but sold out Monday night's game with Denver.

The Monday Night Football match against the Broncos, now led by quarterback Peyton Manning, has been one of the most highly anticipated games this season at Qualcomm Stadium.

A small amount of general tickets are still available, as are some expensive club level seats.

For the contest the following week against Kansas City, about 11,600 tickets remain unsold.

One previous game this season, against Atlanta, was blacked out in Southern California, per National Football League policy.

At halftime of this upcoming Monday's game, golfer Phil Mickelson is scheduled to hit a 100-yard shot in a fundraiser for First Book, a nonprofit that provides reading material for needy children.

The charity will win $1 million, or 400,000 books, if the San Diego native can hit a target from the other end of the field. If his ball lands on one of two outer rings, First Book will receive $50,000 or $100,000.
