SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Clean, green power is energizing a San Diego neighborhood, courtesy of the sun and some helpful volunteers.
SDG&E joined forces with Grid Alternative Saturday for a solar installation challenge in Broadway Heights.
Volunteers came out to install solar systems for four low-income families.
The systems will save the families nearly $135,000 over the next 30 years.
