SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities released the names Tuesday of two Rancho Penasquitos residents killed when a motorcycle ridden by one of the men hit the other as he walked his dog across a street in their neighborhood.
Jesse Arnold, a 26-year-old Army soldier, was riding a 2011 Ducati that struck Shawn Arballo, 29, at high speed in a crosswalk at Carmel Mountain Road and Sundance Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police and the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Both men died at the scene, SDPD Officer David Stafford said. Arballo's dog was taken to a veterinary hospital for treatment. The dog is expected to survive.
