SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Jury selection was scheduled to get under way at the downtown courthouse Wednesday for a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death during an argument at a home in Oak Park two years ago.
Quang Van Dang, 37, is charged with murder in the Aug. 11, 2010, death of 27-year-old Myra Supiping.
San Diego police found the victim stabbed in the chest at the home in the 5100 block of De Burn Drive around 11:15 p.m. Aug. 10. She was declared dead about an hour later.
Dang fled on foot but was found in the 5400 block of Fieger Street about 6 a.m. Aug. 11, according to San Diego police.
Criminal proceedings against the defendant were delayed shortly after the slaying because his attorney questioned Dang's mental status. Two months later, a judge later ruled Dang was mentally capable of standing trial.
