SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Last weekend, Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner made history by jumping from a balloon 24 miles above the Earth.
And a San Diego non-profit helped a group of Southern California students get a front row seat to the historic jump.
That non-profit group is called "Quest For Stars," whose mission is to get young people excited about space exploration.
They not only managed to help document Baumgartner's history-making jump with their own balloon, but thru a cosmic twist of fate, became an honorary part of the Red Bull Stratos Team.
News 8's Richard Allyn has more on how these youngsters documented the amazing supersonic feat.
