SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A predawn apartment fire in Golden Hill Monday sent a woman to a hospital and caused an estimated $250,000 in monetary losses.
The blaze erupted in a two-story four-plex in the 1000 block of 24th Street about 3 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Crews were able to confine the flames to a single ground-floor unit and had them fully extinguished within about 20 minutes, SDFRD spokesman Maurice Luque said.
Medics took a woman who lives in the damaged unit to an emergency room for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The fire caused about $150,000 in structural damage and destroyed contents valued at roughly $100,000, Luque said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
