Rigorous competition for firefighters from across the U.S.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Firefighters from across the country are at the Sycuan Casino for the three-day U.S. National Firefighter Combat Challenge.

Hundreds of the toughest and fittest men and women will simulate the rigors of their job for the title of top firefighter.

The competition includes climbing a five-story tower, dragging hoses and rescuing a 175-pound life-sized victim, all while wearing full bunker gear.
