KEARNY MESA (CNS) - A 25-year-old Cal State San Marcos student was killed early Sunday when his motorcycle veered off the roadway on a transition ramp from Interstate 15 to state Route 52, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Solomon Ahmad Atighi of San Diego was riding a late model Honda CBR 600 on a connector to westbound state Route 52 about 2:40 a.m., the Medical Examiner's Office reported. He was wearing a helmet.

The coroner's report did not say which direction on the 15 the victim had been riding.

Atighi veered off the roadway after he failed to negotiate a curve and was thrown from the bike, officials with the Medical Examiner's Office said.

Another motorist discovered the crash and called 911. California Highway Patrol and fire personnel responded and Atighi was pronounced dead at the scene, the report stated.
