Police investigate truck found engulfed in flames - San Diego, California News Station - KFMB Channel 8 - cbs8.com

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A pickup truck riddled by gunfire was found burning in the Mission Bay area early Monday, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to put out the blaze near East Mission Bay and Clairemont Dr. around 2 a.m., according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher. No one was in the vehicle at the time, she said.

The windshield was shot out, San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
