Trial postponed for 2 brothers accused of murder

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A preliminary hearing for two brothers accused of killing a man and wounding another in a shooting in Lincoln Park was postponed Tuesday until Dec. 10.

Antuon Grey, 24, and Deandre Eugene Grey, 22, are each charged with murder, attempted murder and assault with a firearm in connection with the Jan. 21 shooting that killed 32-year-old Edwin Jackson and wounded a 42-year-old man.

San Diego police said the victims were standing in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Solola Avenue about 4:30 p.m. when two men walked up and opened fire. The motive remains unclear.

The Grey brothers were charged in the shooting in April while in custody for unrelated crimes. At the time, police declined to say what led them to identify the defendants as the shooters.

A judge will decide at the end of the preliminary hearing whether there's enough evidence to order the siblings to stand trial. The Greys are each being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
