Homeless sex offender arrested in San Diego teen's murder

(CBS 8) - A homeless convicted sex offender is in custody in Oregon Wednesday on suspicion of murdering a San Diego teen.

Authorities say 15-year-old Mayra Rodriguez was killed within days of being reported as a missing runaway while visiting relatives in Washington.

Her remains were found in a Portland park in June, but investigators spent months circulating a sketch of the victim. They were able to confirm her identity Wednesday.
