Suspect sought after exposing himself to young girls at Oceanside home

Posted: Updated:

OCEANSIDE (CNS) - A man sneaked into a North County house through a window early Monday and exposed himself to two young girls in their bedroom before fleeing, according to police.

The victims' mother reported the home invasion in the 2300 block of Seasons Road in Oceanside shortly after 2 a.m., Lt. Leonard Mata said.

The girls, ages 5 and 7, told officers they had awoken to see the stranger fondling himself near their beds. He touched at least one of them, then climbed back out the window and fled when one of the victims protested,Mata said.

The children, who were uninjured, described the intruder as a thin man in his 20s, wearing dark-colored clothes.

Police searched the area by ground and from aboard a helicopter but were unable to find the man.

"Detectives are currently in the process of canvassing the victim's neighborhood for possible witnesses and evidence," Mata said Monday afternoon.
