SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diegans are being asked to vote for local eco-heroes.

Eight environmental groups are being recognized as eco-ambassadors, working to retain the beauty of America's Finest City.

The finalists were introduced Tuesday morning at a special breakfast hosted by our very own Vanessa Bezic. The groups were honored by SDG&E and the San Diego River Park Foundation for teaching San Diegans about the environment.

Each finalist will be featured this week on News 8 at 6 a.m. Starting this Friday, you can vote for your favorite. Winner will receive thousands of dollars in grants from SDG&E.
