SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Children in the Lake Murray area are celebrating the opening of a brand new playground.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday at Lake Murray Community Park. Located on the lake's north shore, the playground features sail shades, climbing rocks and plenty of other things to keep kids busy all day long.
Those involved in making the playground a reality say it took three years to get to this point.
"There was a lot of variables and a lot of unknowns. So the fact we made it happen to the degree and the dream that we wanted… it's very emotional," Lake Murray Playground Project Chair Tracy Dahlkamp said.
