SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint by a passenger in Pacific Beach early Monday, police said.
The robbery at Emerald and Morrell streets was reported at 12:53 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.
The taxi cab driver picked up the gunman at 1600 Garnet Ave., Stafford said in a statement, adding that the robber fled on foot with the driver's wallet, cell phone and cash. No one was hurt.
Police described the robber as black, in his early 20s, roughly 5 feet 9, with an athletic build, wearing a brown coat and black T-shirt and armed with a handgun.
