Suspected DUI driver crashes into parked cars

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - At least two cars are totaled and one man is under arrest Tuesday after a wild crash in Mira Mesa.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 10200 block of Camino Ruiz, when residents at a nearby apartment complex say they heard the crash.

When they came outside, they found a man had ran into at least three parked vehicles.

A San Diego police officer arrived on scene and pulled the driver from his burning car. That driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, was taken to the hospital for neck and back injuries.

At one point, 500 customers were without power because the crash damaged an electrical box.

Since then the power is restored.
