Suspects on the loose after hotel shooting

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – A search is underway Wednesday for two suspects involved in a shooting at the Mission Valley Resort in Hotel Circle.

Investigators say the victim and a woman were inside their hotel room when two men entered. After a few minutes, one of the suspects fired a single shot, hitting the victim in the leg.

Police say they're still working out the details.

"Both suspects fled the scene, as you can see the investigation is on going into what their relationships were and why this occurred," said Lt. Brian Goldberg with the San Diego Police Department.

One of the suspects is described as white, standing six feet tall and weighing about 245 pounds. The other is Hispanic, standing 5'2" and wearing a blue jogging suit.

There is no word yet on a motive. As of this report, the victim is expected to recover.
