Crews extinguish small brush fire near Knott's Soak City

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A two-acre vegetation fire in a canyon near a housing development south of Knott's Soak City water theme park was quickly extinguished by firefighters Saturday.

"San Diego, Chula Vista and Cal Fire units all responded at 12:06 p.m.," a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher said. "They had the fire contained with a ring around it by 12:30 p.m."

The dispatcher said the fire started in vegetation in the foothills between the water park and homes on Avenida De Las Vistas.
