SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Visitors can now journey back in time for a glimpse of what San Diego was like during World War ll.
The Cabrillo National Monument opened a historic refurbished World War ll bunker Saturday.
Original blueprints were used to make sure it was as authentic as possible. Organizers say they want to make sure the public is informed of San Diego's role in the war.
Inside the bunker, there were period paintings, stenciling of a battery commander's station, as well as World War ll era military furniture.
