San Diego County gasoline price drops for 48th consecutive day
SAN DIEGO (CNS/CBS 8) - Thanksgiving travelers are enjoying the lowest gas prices San Diego has seen in four months.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased Sunday for the 48th consecutive day, falling four-tenths of a cent to $3.779, its lowest amount since July 21.
The average price has dropped 94.6 cents over the past 48 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Saturday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.8 cents less than one week ago and 53.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.9 cents more than one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 91-day streak from Sept. 16-Dec. 15, 2008.
