CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - Chula Vista police are searching for a couple of thieves after they led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.
Just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, three people were spotted in the backyard of a home that had just been burglarized. Police say they took off before crashing at 41st and Eta Street in Shelltown.
"The pursuit ended when the vehicle struck a parked vehicle. Two of the three occupants fled on foot, the third occupant was taken into custody," Capt. Gary Wedge said.
One woman was arrested. A bag full of items, including jewelry, was left at the scene of the crash.
Police say a number of burglaries have occurred in the area in the past few months, with the same suspect vehicle description.
