SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - An infant and her nanny suffered minor injuries Wednesday when they were both hit by a car while crossing the street in Carmel Valley.

It happened just after noon on Carmel Creek Road. The nanny was in the crosswalk with the baby strapped into a stroller when a driver making a turn didn't see her.

The car hit the woman and the stroller flipped over the hood, with the baby still strapped into it. Witnesses rushed to help.

"The nanny already had the baby out of the stroller by the time I could even get to her, and then it was just a matter of keeping her from moving the baby because the paramedics, they don't like that to happen," a witness said.

The nanny was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The baby's parents took the infant to a doctor to be checked out.

Authorities believe this was an accident and say there are no plans to file charges against the driver at this time.
