San Diego Zoo's panda cub Xiao Liwu growing as expected

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Zoo's giant panda cub is growing up before our eyes.

Xiao Liwu had his weekly exam Thursday. He's gaining confidence in crawling, and has become more curious of his surroundings, which makes it a little harder for his keepers to take his measurements.

The panda cub now weighs a little over 12 pounds and is nearly 26 inches long.

Zoo officials say he is growing as expected.
