LAKESIDE (CBS 8) - One lane of State Route 67 in Lakeside was shut down Friday morning, after two crashes.
Around 8:45 a.m. a woman driving a Volvo lost control in the rain and crashed. A few minutes later, a man driving a minivan also lost control.
The van rolled over, leaving him trapped inside. Fire crews had to cut the door open to get him out.
The California Highway Patrol reports that part of the crash was caused by worn out tires.
"A major factor in the collision was the tires were extremely bald, the wires were actually showing on the tires," said CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber
The CHP says now is a good time to check your tires, to make sure they have plenty of tread.
Both drivers suffered only minor injuries.
