OLD TOWN (CNS) - A woman drove into a San Diego police car and then triggered a brief chase remains jailed Saturday, police said.

The woman was identified as Kaveri Fields, 24, San Diego Police officer Matt Gagliardi said.

Gagliardi said the incident began at 8:57 p.m. Friday when the woman hit the patrol car near West Point Loma and Nimitz boulevards.

"The police car was hit, then tried to stop the car before it went eastbound on Interstate 8," Gagliardi said. The woman's car "exited at the park and ride on Taylor Street and the driver was arrested."

Gagliardi said the pursuit was brief.

"The whole thing lasted three minutes," he said. Fields was the only person in the vehicle. No one was injured.

Gagliardi said Fields was held for suspicion of drunken driving and booked into Las Colinas Women's Detention Facility in Santee.
