Mother and child injured by suspected DUI driver

OCEAN BEACH (CNS/CBS 8) - A suspected drunken driver is behind bars Saturday after hitting a mother and her 3-year-old child while they rode a bicycle in Ocean Beach.

The crash happened at 11:51 a.m. at the intersection of West Point Loma and Sunset Cliffs boulevards in Ocean Beach, San Diego Police officer Matt Gagliardi said.

"A vehicle hit a bicyclist with a child breaking the child's leg," Gagliardi said. "The driver was arrested for felony drunken driving."

The child was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was not publicly identified.
