SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A woman, who crashed into a fire hydrant in City Heights late Tuesday night, is blaming a brake failure for the accident.

The woman said she was driving uphill around 10 p.m. at the intersection of 51st Street and Orange Avenue when her brakes gave out. She rolled backwards down the hill, sheering off a hydrant and crashing into a street light.

Fire crews were able to shut off the hydrant valve in about 10 minutes.

No injuries were reported.
