275 military families receive free Christmas trees

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of local military families received free Christmas trees Thursday at the eighth annual Trees for Troops event.

The event was held at Lincoln military housing and sponsored by the Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx. In all, 275 families picked out their own trees, which were then loaded onto the vehicles by volunteers.

Thursday's event also featured holiday music, snacks and goodie bags for the kids.
