POWAY (CBS 8) - An elementary school in Poway is teaching children the importance of treating everyone with fairness and respect, regardless of their disability.
On Thursday, students at Adobe Bluffs Elementary listened to presenters with different disabilities.
Mark Goffeney, a local musician who was born with no arms, told students it's OK to ask people about their disabilities, but to make sure to put the person first.
"We all do things differently because people have different abilities and disabilities," Goffeney said.
This is the school's third annual event. Other inspiring speakers Thursday included a young man who is the first person with autism to go to law school, and an athlete training for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
