SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Little Padres Park in Tierrasanta is ready for kids to play ball, thanks to some much-needed upgrades.
Padres pitcher Cory Leubke joined Murphy Canyon little leager Luke and the San Diego Bank of America president to throw out the ceremonial first pitch during the re-dedication ceremony.
Upgrades to the field include a new pitcher's mound, new signage, fresh coats of paint and a helmet and bat rack.
"Baseball parks are really the centerpieces of our community, throughout the entire country, places for families to enjoy their time together playing America's favorite past-time and cultivating lifelong friendships," Bank of America San Diego Market President Rick Bregman said.
Updates to the Twin Hills Little League and San Diego American Little League fields will be done next year.
