Police seek attempted carjacking suspect in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Police are looking for a man Friday who tried three different times to carjack women in Oceanside, and failed.

It happened just before 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of a Target store in the 2200 block of El Camino Real.

Police say the suspect is a white male, possibly a transient.

Two of the women said he had a gun, the other said he had a knife. That third woman flipped the kill switch in her car and ran off before the man could get inside.

He tried to start the car, but ended up getting trapped after the windows automatically locked. He broke a window to escape.
