SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of local school kids will receive free athletic shoes, all thanks to Kaiser Permanente and the After-School All-Stars program.
"We've got about 450 pairs, so we'll be able to give shoes to four of our schools this holiday season," said Tyree Dillingham with After-School All-Stars.
Padres player Will Venable was on hand Tuesday to help fit some of the kids into their new shoes and run some drills with them.
Kaiser Permanente holds a shoe drive, then donates the shoes to the After-School All-Stars.
The All-Stars program provides free after school activities for 4,000 San Diego children every day.
