SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A Pacific Beach street was flooded Wednesday as city crews worked on water lines.
A fire hydrant shot a large amount of water into the street at the corner of Diamond and Jewel streets.
The water department says a contractor was depressurizing the water main and disinfecting pipes with chlorinated water ahead of installing new lines.
The release of water from the hydrant is a standard operating procedure as the city works proactively to improve water lines.
No damage was reported.
