SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A minor, a 9 millimeter handgun and a wild police pursuit ended Thursday morning with a boy and his alleged accomplice in crime behind bars.

The high-speed chase came to a stop in the 2200 block of East 11th Street.

The chase started on Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley around 11 p.m. Wednesday, when deputies responded to a report of a suspicious prowler on a residential street.

When deputies arrived to the area, they were passed by a Ford F-150. At that time, they turned around and started to follow the vehicle. Police were able to confirm the truck was stolen. There were two people inside and the driver failed to stop and started speeding onto the westbound SR 54.

Speeds reached up to 110 miles per hour and the suspects eventually exited off Highland Avenue in National City. One person jumped out of the truck and was arrested. Then, the truck took off again going about 80 miles per hour. National City police joined the pursuit and were finally able arrest the boy.

The stolen truck has been returned to its owner.
