Holiday spirit of giving alive in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diegans are taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday to give to those in need.

Charitable gifts of money, time, and joy can be seen throughout the county.

At the First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley an anonymous donor gave $2,000 gift-cards to families in the congregation.

Local business owner Walden Keyes spent Christmas Eve handing out 25 extra large pizzas, drinks and gifts to the homeless downtown.

For him, it's a way to celebrate the season of giving.

Meantime, Deedra Lewis spent the day singing to people at Lindbergh Field.

She says, she just wanted to spread a little christmas cheer.
