Arrest made after dangerous chase ends at apt complex

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – A suspect is in custody Saturday morning, after a dangerous chase that started in National City.

The driver led police on a high-speed, six mile pursuit on side streets Friday night, reaching speeds of 70 miles an hour. Then, the chase came to a stop and the suspect tried to make a run for it at a Bay Terraces apartment complex. However, the apartment complex was at a dead end on Alcona Street and the suspect was unable to hide from a police chopper or K-9 units.
