Gas prices drop slightly after series of increases

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell one-tenth of a cent Monday to $3.614 after rising five times in eight days.

The average price is 3.3 cents more than one week ago but 13.4 cents less than one month ago and 2.5 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose six-tenths of a cent on Sunday.
