SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A baby girl who fell into the San Diego Harbor Monday is expected to recover.
The 21-month-old was walking with her family near the Star of India around 11:15 a.m. when witnesses say she tripped and fell into the water.
Her father jumped in after her. And, he was able to pull the little girl out of the water after a bystander threw him a life-preserver.
"It was wet and scary. I had some help from some nice bystanders," said the baby's father.
"I was pushing him in the stroller and that's when I heard the splash. I seen him jump in and I was ready to go in next, and he already had the baby," said Jose Natividad who witnessed the accident.
The little girl was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
