SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Police are looking for suspects after a stabbing in the East Village area, but say they have little to go on, because the victim is refusing to cooperate with the investigation.
The 47-year-old man was beaten and stabbed by an unknown number of individuals at a bus station in the 1300 block of National Avenue just before 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the head, neck and back, as well as several broken ribs. He was transported to a local trauma center and his injuries are considered non-life threatening.
Police say there are no details or any suspect description at this time.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday for a former San Diego police officer accused of groping four women during pat-down searches last year.
Chula Vista police will be looking for drivers talking or texting on cell phones Tuesday and through the end of the month as part of "Distracting Driving Awareness Month."
Police were on the lookout Tuesday for the man who fired a shot while robbing a Rolando-area smoke shop and his accomplice who emptied its cash register.
