SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man with heavily tattooed arms robbed a Carmel Valley-area bank Thursday.
The thief entered the Wells Fargo branch office in the 3400 block of Del Mar Heights Road shortly before 3:30 p.m., approached several tellers and demanded cash, according to San Diego police.
The bandit left the bank with an undetermined amount of money and ran off to the north toward an apartment complex, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.
Witnesses described the robber as a roughly 6-foot white man with "sleeve" style tattoos on his arms. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored shirt, a white baseball cap and black Vans-brand shoes.
An 18-year-old student has been hospitalized and is undergoing a psychological evaluation after allegedly threatening her parents with a knife.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday for a former San Diego police officer accused of groping four women during pat-down searches last year.
Chula Vista police will be looking for drivers talking or texting on cell phones Tuesday and through the end of the month as part of "Distracting Driving Awareness Month."
