PACIFIC BEACH (CNS) - A 24-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and rear-ended a stopped vehicle on a Pacific Beach street Sunday, which caused him major head injuries, police said.
The rider was headed east on Grand Ave. approaching Lee Ave. about 8 a.m. when he saw slowing or stopped traffic ahead, according to San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher.
He tried to avoid crashing, but lost control and struck the back of a stopped vehicle, Lasher said.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries, Lasher said.
The crash was in front of Mission Bay High School.
