SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - An 11-year-old girl is being called a hero, after calling 911 as burglars broke into her home in Valencia Park.

Je Lise Frank was home alone around 9 a.m. Monday when someone knocked on her door.

She didn't answer, and immediately called her mom.

After hanging up, she heard the window break, then hid under a bed and called 911.

Police responded quickly, while the burglars were still inside. The officers chased the suspects but they got away.

After an extensive search, which included setting up a perimeter and the use of a helicopter, they took one of the men into custody.

Je Lise's mom heard about the break in and rushed home, grateful police were already there and that her daughter was safe.
