Police seeking suspect in Tierrasanta bank robbery
SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A thin man sporting a hat with a National Hockey League logo on it robbed a Tierrasanta bank Thursday afternoon.
The thief confronted a teller at the Chase branch office in the 10000 block of Tierrasanta Boulevard shortly before 1:30 p.m. and demanded cash verbally as well as via a written message, according to San Diego police.
After the employee handed over an undisclosed amount of currency, the bandit put it into a black backpack he was carrying, walked out of the bank and fled the area on foot to the east, SDPD public-affairs Lt. Andra Brown said.
He was described as a "skinny," roughly 5-foot-10-inch black man in his mid-20s to early 30s, wearing jeans, a gray sweat shirt and a red-and-white Detroit Red Wings cap, the lieutenant said.
