SANTEE (CBS 8) - She's a fitness instructor at the Santee YMCA, and if you don't recognize her face right away, you surely know her voice.
We caught CBS 8 traffic reporter Jo Eager teaching her 8 a.m. seniors workout class.
"I taught 22 years ago, and I got back into it two years ago," she said. "The members are from 55 to 93. We do about 25 minutes of cardio, and then we do a lot of strength training."
Jo approaches fitness like traffic -- she likes to keep things moving and current.
"They are a really neat group of people. There's a lot of exercise classes, but here, this group, they are close-knit," Jo said.
Eighty-one-year-old Jerry Sokol, who likes to be called Jerry "So Cool," rarely misses this class.
"This is the highlight of my day. It's too much fun, and they are great people. Most of them are great. I could point out a few of them that aren't so good," he joked.
As one of just a couple males in this class, "So Cool" likes his odds.
"Unbelievable. I just walk in here and I feel like I have a crown on. I could snap my fingers and they would do anything I want," he said.
At age 91, Marge Bonenka has been working out at the Santee Y for seven years.
"Got to keep moving," she said.
She encourages folks of all ages to exercise.
"You've got to move, even if you just walk around the mall," she said.
Molly Sloan, at age 94, is the senior member of the exercise class.
"I think it's kept me going," Molly said.
The goals of Jo Eager's classes are simple.
"They have fun and stay fit," Jo said.
And there's always room for more in her workouts, because after all, she doesn't mind the traffic.
